When to change the bed linen?
It's best to change the bed linen once a week, especially in summer. In winter, it's recommended to change them up to a maximum of every 10-12 days.
Maintaining the hygiene of our bed is very important. Clean bed linen is essential for our well-being. For example, if you wake up with irritated skin or a stuffy nose, it could be due to your bed linen, which, if not clean, can attract various allergens. Dust particles in the atmosphere also settle on the bed linen and are inhaled for about eight hours a day. Considering that about one in six people suffers from some form of allergy or respiratory difficulty and that we spend on average about a third of our lives in bed, the importance of sleeping in clean bed linen becomes evident. The bed is also the favorite place of dust mites, which find an ideal environment for their survival here. These tiny insects can aggravate asthma, exacerbate or cause allergies such as rhinitis and hives. Choosing breathable bed linen made from natural fabrics, such as those in Dalfilo cotton, helps prevent dust mites from nesting in our beds. According to various researchers, the ideal way to stay healthy is to wash the bed linen once a week, especially in summer when lightweight pajamas are worn and the skin remains in direct contact with the fabric. A special mention is deserved for pillowcases: ideally, these should be changed at least twice a week to prevent acne and pimples caused by bacteria nesting in the fabric. Blankets, mattress covers, and bedspreads should be washed once a month, or more often if there are any stains.
