How to wash bed linen?
If the fabric is of pure natural fibre, it is recommended to wash at a maximum of 40°C in the washing machine, using the delicate cycle and with a spin not exceeding 800 revolutions per minute.
Using natural bed linen is a great practice to avoid allergies or breathing difficulties during sleep, as well as the accumulation of mites among the bed linen. However, when we wash our bed linen, we wonder at what temperature we can put them in the washing machine. For cotton bed linen, such as those from Dalfilo, a washing temperature not exceeding 40°C in the washing machine is recommended. It's important not to wash cotton products with synthetic ones, even if the same mode is suitable for both. In general, for washing, it's advisable to follow the instructions on the label. The key point to keep in mind is to set a spin speed that is not higher than 800 revolutions per minute: this is the only precaution that will minimise the loss of centimetres. The temperature of 40°C is valid for both cotton bed linen sets and those in flannel or satin. If it's a silk model, it's more appropriate to wash it at 30°C with a delicate cycle. In natural fabrics that do not include synthetic fibres, it's normal to experience a shrinkage of up to about 4-5% after the first wash. This loss is physiological and cannot be completely eliminated. Indeed, in some ways, it should be viewed positively: it confirms that the garment is actually made with pure cotton fabric and does not contain other synthetic fibres. Also, remember not to overload the washing machine: there is a risk that over time the drum may be damaged and the item may not be adequately cleaned.
