How to dry bed linen?
If you're using a tumble dryer, we recommend opting for a short drying cycle at low temperatures to avoid damaging the fabric. Also, pay attention to the dryer load: the less it is, the less wrinkled the bed linen will be.
Freshly washed bed linen is a sensory pleasure, especially when the fragrance fills the rooms of your home. However, it's important to dry it carefully to prevent damage or musty odours. If you're using a tumble dryer, it's advisable to avoid over-drying the laundry. Some items, such as towels, bed linen, pillowcases, and most cotton garments, remain wrinkled if dried too much. At the same time, leaving the bed linen in the dryer for too long could cause it to shrink. The ideal approach is to dry it as quickly as possible and at a low temperature to preserve the fabric. If you want to avoid using an iron on your bed linen, you can achieve this through a brief drying cycle. A slight residual moisture prevents the formation of many wrinkles and the need for ironing bed linen and pillowcases. However, if you choose to dry bed linen along with other items, such as towels, you may encounter a problem. Not all bed linen is made of the same fabric, so it's better to separate significantly different loads to avoid excessive drying problems. Bed linen dries faster than towels, so when the bed linen is dry, the towels will probably still be wet. In such cases, it's better not to combine washes with different fabrics, especially with towels that require excessive drying. Wrinkled bed linen in the dryer: how to avoid it During the initial uses of the dryer, you may find the bed linen still damp and twisted. To avoid this inconvenience, we recommend putting the bed linen in the dryer a few at a time (at most one set) and drying them separately. If the bed linen is dried together with other items, it's advisable to place them first in the drum, well spread out. Drying folded bed linen is not a good solution. The hot air from the dryer doesn't penetrate deeply into the folded bed linen, which will remain damp in the middle. Our tips for drying bed linen without a tumble dryer: Not everyone can afford a tumble dryer, no matter how convenient it may be. In addition to the good practice of hanging bed linen in a non-humid place and spreading it out as best as possible, we suggest not adding other laundry to the washing machine drum during the wash cycle. This way, you can use all the available space on the drying rack and completely stretch the bed linen above it to dry as quickly as possible. Also, remember to set the washing machine cycle correctly. Here are our tips on how to wash bed linen effectively.
